How long is an appointment? Return appointments last 20-35 minutes, depending on your body’s response. First time appointments need an additional 10 minutes for paperwork.
How many needles are used? Most treatments use 4-10 needles. If a patient is uneasy about the acupuncture needles, we can either use just a few and still get results, or use methods that do not use needles. (Digital, Teishen)
How big are the needles? Acupuncture needles are very thin, in the 36 to 38ga range (0.101 mm, 0.0040 in.)
Can I read during treatment? Can I listen to my headphones? You won’t be able to read during treatment as you may have needles in your arms or hands, and lots of movement is not recommended. If your treatments are specific to your legs or torso, reading should not be a problem. Listening to headphones is OK.
Can I move with needles inserted? You should try to not move after the acupuncture needles are inserted. A small shift in position is OK, but larger movements could be painful or muscle contractions at the insertion point could cause the needles to fall out.
What is the best way to make an appointment? You may call the office at (913) 294-9993 to make an appointment or use the online scheduler. A “Schedule an appointment” button is on the first page of our website. The link is https://armourchiro.janeapp.com

Is there anything special I should do after acupuncture? Drinking water is recommended. It’s also a good idea to wait an hour or so before a work-out or strenuous work.
Do you treat children? Yes! A parent or guardian needs to be present at the appointment, and the child must be old enough to understand what is going on and accepting of the procedure.
